Holiday Contest Winners and Player Submissions

I think I'll make it a tradition to do a long, end-of-the-year post. Thanks to the fact that it took so long to do, my first year, or seven or so months of blogging, ended up with 101 posts! A week or two ago, I asked players to send in photos, drawings, graphics, or whatever else they could come up with, of a Christmas tree! Not too many people seemed interested - there were only three entries! While that does mean that you're all winners, who gets the grand prize of a Boar Knight pet and 1,000 crowns and which two received the Wyvern's Hoard Packs? It's time to find out! And stay tuned for player-submitted photos with the Advanced Lighting added!

I told readers that if they wanted to submit in-game photos to try with the advanced lighting setting, they could send them to swordroll@gmail.com. They can still do so. Destiny Soultamer sent in a few images of her house:

In that first image, there's a lot going on. You've got light from the windows, from your staff and pet, and then some from the moon and stars coming through the open roof. Notice the difference specifically in the windows and floor, but also other added lighting.

Cave scenes are always good, and here, your main light sources are your staff, pet, and the torch in the background. You get some reflection off the cave walls and water, but mainly off of the shiny gold! Your shadow is doubled because of the great reflection of light and torch in the background acting as two of the few light sources in the cave, which is why some of the light is so bright.
