Need $12,000? I Can Help!


While it seems that a lot of our wizards and pirates who run multiple accounts can already handle themselves,  if you're looking for an extra 12,000 dollars or 10,000 euros, I've just the thing for you!

You see, Gameforge is a part of an annual award ceremony called the AppArtAward.
Wait, what's this Apart-y-ward? After a successful launch last year of AppArtAward goes into the second round. The ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe and its partners are looking for the best works of art in 2012 in the App-format, which are characterized as advanced artistic applications. Besides aesthetic aspects is the integration and creative use of technology in focus.

As part of the award ceremony on 13th July 2012, a prestigious international jury awards generous prizes in three categories.

Can I submit an app? Entries for the IOS operating system, Android, and Windows Phone are accepted. The submitted application must be able to run on:

Android version> = 2.1
Apple IOS version> = 4.3
Windows Mobile version> = 7.0

You can submit apps already published and unpublished apps.

Gameforge is sponsoring the AppArtAward in the Game Art category of the ZKM | Centre for Art and Media Technology (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie) Karlsruhe. After the highly successful launch of the AppArtAward last year, the internationally renowned research and exhibition institute will be awarding the international prize for artworks in app format for a second time. At an award ceremony on 13 July 2012 the competition’s distinguished international jury will present cash prizes to the winners in the three categories “Game Art”, “Artistic Innovation” and “Cloud Art”.
The Special Prize for Game Art, valued at 10,000 euros, will be sponsored by Gameforge. It rewards innovative, critical or subversive computer game applications for smartphones and tablet-PCs, made by independent developers who use the medium for artistic expression. With its commitment to the cause, the publisher, based in Karlsruhe, is contributing to the creative, cultural and economical potential of mobile games.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, 13 July 2012, in the ZKM “Cube” in Karlsruhe, Germany. Begin: 8:00 pm. Free entry! You can also watch a live stream. The laudation is spoken by Carsten van Husen, Gameforge.
From 13th July 2012 until the 13th January 2013 the winner-apps, as well as a selection of the best submissions are presented at ZKM and can be tested by all visitors.
