Wizard101 Grizzleheim Lore Pack Review
With the summer update now on the live realm, the Grizzleheim Lore Pack has hit the Crown Shop for 399 crowns! It features three new spells, three new gear sets, three new pets, and some other new furniture, all with a Grizzleheim theme. Take a look at what's inside and whether or not it's worth your crowns.
Grizzleheim Lore Pack: What's Inside
While leaning heavily on Grizzleheim's Norse influence, this pack takes a turn for the more mythological side with new spells (including a highly-request 4-pip AoE for Life wizards) and more. It's also full of familiar Grizzleheim items and plenty of filler snacks.
New Spells
The highlight of any lore pack is its spells, and that's certainly true of the Grizzleheim Lore Pack. The spells are okay in terms of effects. The Life spell stands out as a much-needed early AoE, and it does as much damage as Meteor Strike! Life getting the AoE is big, but to match Fire's damage as well? That's fantastic. The Myth spell is okay. When you calculate the healing for comparison, it heals 135 health per pip while Satyr heals 215 per pip, so it's no Life heal, but it is nice for Myth wizards who are not using a Life mastery. The Storm spell is pretty lacking. Eric Stormbringer points out how it's basically an inferior Winter Moon (and Ice isn't exactly known for its damage).
The animations on all of these spells are absolutely fantastic. They're great. I love them all, but especially Grendel Amends. I suggest taking a look at them in Blaze Lifehammer's video here.
Fenrir Pets
Based on the monstrous wolf in Norse mythology, there are three versions of this pet - the Ice Fenrir, the Fire Fenris, and the Myth Fenric. These pets each glow different colors and they're pretty cool looking.

Grizzleheim Gear
The gear in this pack is a perfect fit for the theme. While the overall appearance is really cool, the textures are really poor. Something doesn't look right about the items, especially the robe. The stats aren't too bad. While the robes lack the stats to be meaningful as usual and the boots are missing resistance, the hats could work for offensive setups that don't care about resistance or more balanced stats.
The gear does include an interesting new spell called "Power Current" which costs zero pips and gives 1-4 pips to a target, which could be a good utility spell other than the fact that the hat is built more for a hammer than support.
Grizzleheim Wands
These two-handed weapons all have the ability to cast Wrath of Zeus, and offer competitive damage bonuses that could make them weapons worth having, especially in a word where damage is becoming increasingly important and where critical and block decay has significantly reduced the relevance of those stats.

Other Items
The pack also includes a few new furniture items. They're not as great as some of the furniture we've seen in other packs, though. A majority of the furniture is going to be wall shields along with statues and music scrolls that have been around for awhile.
Other Items Grade: D

Pack Analysis
This pack has some of the most filler content I've seen. So many of the items are old an uninteresting. Generally, you get one or maybe two new items per pack, and that could be a furniture item that you've already received five times or a Treasure Card version of one of the spells. Keep those, though, because the spells will likely either be craftable in the future or drop from Loremaster (or both).

Here's the rarity of some of the more notable items in the pack:
- Epic: Spells
- Ultra-Rare: Robes, Wands, Pets
- Rare: Hats, Boots
- New furniture items range from Common to Rare
The Verdict
This is a pack worth trying if you're interested in any of its items, especially the gear (either for looks or stats). The pets can be hatched as always and spells will likely be available in some other form down the line. There's so much filler content in this pack. It's one that's not for everybody.
