Unforgiven Dead Pack Review | Wizard101
Wizard101's newest pack is here and it's full of Avalon-themed goodies! You'll
have a chance to open up Loch Monster mounts, Scotty Dog pets, gear for all
seven schools, and more in this pack, plus reagents to craft the new
Unforgiven Dead Gauntlet! Check out what's inside and whether or not it's worth your crowns.
This pack is full of interesting items. It has the usual 3 new mounts and 3
new pets. But it also has an impressive seven gear sets, one for each school.
Additionally, this is the latest gauntlet companion pack which offers reagents
to craft the
Unforgiven Dead Gauntlet. It also has spellements, house guests, and both existing (somewhat rare)
Avalon furniture items and new ones.
Unforgiven Dead Gauntlet Peat Reagents
This pack drops the reagents to craft its associated gauntlet. The Peat
reagent is the lowest tier and most common. The Fortified Peat reagent is a
middle tier and less common. The Enriched Peat is the rarest and highest tier
reagent. Transmutates allow you to craft higher tier reagents from lower ones.
Here's a good way to think about it: You need 300 Peat total to craft
the gauntlet.
Regular Peat is worth 1, Fortified Peat is worth 8, and Enriched Peat is
worth 40. You can purchase the crafting recipe for the gauntlet and the Peat transmutate spells from Lloyd FallingWater in the Shopping District.
Loch Monster Mounts
One of the main draws to the Unforgiven Dead Pack is the mounts. These Loch
Monsters offer a standard 40% speed boost for one passenger. There are three
mounts offered in the pack, in 1-day, 7-day, and permanent versions.
Scotty Dog Pets
Now an ultra-rare item, the Scotty Dog pets are an adorable companion for your
wizard's adventures through Avalon or the rest of the Spiral. There are three
available in the pack.
Mount & Pet Grade: B-

Highlands Gear & Wands
One of the more unique things this pack has to offer is a gear set for every
class! These gear sets look just okay, but the stats are decent!
Gear & Wand Grade: C+

Furniture, Spellements, & More
This pack doesn't just use miscellaneous snacks and reagents for filler. It
also offers spellements for a variety of spells, new furniture including new
Ettin house guests, and some old returning furniture. Here's a look at some of
the items, new and old, that you can get from the pack. Several of these
items, particularly the trees and bushes, come in multiple sizes.

Pack Analysis
Like all past gauntlet packs, you should expect to spend 30,000-40,000 crowns
on packs in order to obtain enough reagents to craft the gauntlet on average.
This will vary depending on if you open some of the top-tier reagents or have
to primarily transmutate from the lower-tier ones. It takes 40 Peat to make 1
Enriched Peat.
Interestingly in this pack, the rarity on some items is shifted.
Traditionally, pets are rare items, and in this pack, they're ultra-rare. They
certainly seem like one of the toughest items to get. Robes, which have
traditionally been ultra-rare items, are now only rare. The same is true of
7-day mounts which have moved from ultra-rare down to rare, and for 1-day
mounts, which have moved from rare to uncommon. See a list of items by rarity
below the pack samples.
Here's the rarity of the more notable items in the pack:
- Epic: Permanent Mounts
- Ultra-Rare: Wands, Pets
- Rare: Hats, Robes, Boots, House Guests, 7-Day Mounts
- Uncommon: 1-Day Mounts
- Furniture items range from Common to Rare
The Verdict
The Unforgiven Dead Pack has some pretty decent offerings overall. In
particular with gauntlet packs, they need to have enough stuff that if you
decide to buy 40,000 crowns worth in pursuit of crafting the gauntlet that
you're actually getting something for you money, otherwise why open the pack
at all? You can just buy the gauntlet from the Wizard101 website.
Fortunately, the Unforgiven Dead Pack does deliver in this department,
offering an unusual seven gear sets, wands that look really cool, and three
mounts. It's the filler that really makes the difference though. New furniture
items offer incentive to purchase the pack on top of relevant spellements
which drop with some regularity. That means that even once you have the items
you want, there's still more to win from the pack on your journey to crafting
the gauntlet. Although there aren't any items in particular which jump out to
me as amazing or must-haves, this is a solid pack with good offerings
throughout.
